Nigeria @59: Kogi Speaker charges Nigerians on unity and patriotism

Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Prince Matthew Kolawole has charged Nigerians to be united and patriotic in contributing their quota to the overall development of the nation as Nigeria marked the 59th years of independent.

The Speaker said Nigeria as a country can only develop the way it should if only everyone is ready to be patriotic and do what is right.

He commended the efforts of those who fought for the independence of the country, stressing that Nigeria has come of age to witness real development in all facets of life.

He said the challenges of insecurity, corruption, infrastructure deficit can be overcome in a matter of time, stressing that Nigeria is a great country with great potential to develop like other advanced countries.

He called on Nigerians to see themselves as one irrespective of their tribe, religion or political affiliations, noting that all hands must be on the deck to move the country forward.

He congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC led government for their giant efforts at repositioning the nation for a better tomorrow.

The Speaker said the current administration in both the State and Federal has shown commitment to foster peace and unity in carrying every segment of the society together in administering the affairs of the nation.

He urged Nigerians to use the occasion of the 59th anniversary of our independence to reflect on issues of our development.

He called on the people to continue to support and cooperate with the government in their efforts to provide leadership that will endure, noting that Kogi State under Governor Yahaya Bello has tried to build a state for all irrespective of ethnic, religious or political affiliations.

He urged the people to vote for the APC/GYB/CEDO come November 16, 2019 governorship election.
