Covid-19: NAKOSS Urges All Round Sensitization

The Leadership of National Association of Kogi State Students (NAKOSS National), Comrade Enyo-Ojo Stephen has called upon all units and ministries in the states ranging from Health, Sports, Education, Science and Technology, Information and Communication Strategy as well as other ministries to intensify public sensitization on Corona virus also known as COVID-19 which is fast spreading round the world.

Comrade Enyo-Ojo also applauded the State government for taking quick and rapid steps such as the ban of gathering of more than thirty persons in the state, closure of schools and for the provision of adequate materials to help prevent the spread of the virus in the state.

As part of measures to help curtail the spread of the virus, and sensitize the indigenes about the virus NAKOSS in collaboration with ‘Waves of Success Foundation’, an NGO in Kogi state, has distributed one million bottles of hand sanitizers to schools and communities in Kogi East Senatorial District.

Furthermore, The leadership of the association has made plans to organize a street to street sensitization and a radio broadcast in a bid to help create awareness to the general public on the virus, preventive measures and what to do if symptoms arise. The date scheduled will be passed across soon. They also mentioned that it will be of utmost joy if the Ministry of Health can assist the student’s association with materials to aid sensitization.

It is worthy of note that as the Federal Government directed, All educational institutions should put all activities on hold, this allows students to stay back at home for the period of time stipulated until a solution is proffered to the deadly virus.

All students are therefore advised to be of good behaviour in this period, keep a good spirit and stay positive.

Signed:
COMR. ENYO-OJO STEPHEN
NATIONAL NAKOSS PRESIDENT
