Achuba: NYCN Calls on President Muhammadu Buhari to Intervene in Kogi State Leadership Crisis

NYCN Calls on President Muhammadu Buhari to Intervene in Kogi State Leadership Crisis.

The President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Amb. Oladele John Nihi, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to with a matter of urgency, intervene in the crisis currently rocking the leadership of Kogi State; as it is no longer news what has transpired between the State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and his Deputy, Simon Achuba.

In the interest of the state, the issues between this two should be treated by the President without any delay; to avoid any further escalation.

Amb. Oladele John Nihi is urging President Buhari to give a listening ear to both aggrieved parties and not judge from one perspective. All allegations level against one another should be properly investigated and all mystery unraveled; in other to restore back the confidence the good people of Kogi State once had in democracy.

“I see the current face-off between Governor Yahaya Bello and his Deputy, Simon Achuba, as a total mess. It is sad that a struggling State like Kogi State, had to be faced with such calamity, and a total error in leadership. I am urging President Buhari to swift into action and bring this show of shame to rest. Both parties should be invited by the President, and a proper dialogue initiated” said Amb. Nihi.

The apex youth body believes that in the interest of the youths in Kogi State, it is far better to withdraw the state’s leadership crisis from the media, for it to be properly handled by the presidency. Adding that the youths expect more from the state governor; him been the youngest among his peers.

One could also recall the series of media outburst from both parties; with Deputy Governor Simon Achuba speaking for himself, and Kingsley Fanwo, speaking on behalf of Governor Yahaya Bello.
