Kogi Speaker condemns attack by suspected Gunmen on Suku-Bunu community

Member representing Kabba/Bunu State Constituency and the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Prince Matthew Kolawole has condemned in strong terms the killing of the Chairman, Bunu Hunter Association, Caleb Oshe and his son, Sunday Oshe in Suku community in Bunu district of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area by yet to be identified gunmen.

He said it is barbaric and provocative for a reasonable person and patriotic citizen to be attacking a vulnerable community killing people at will, noting that no one should disturb the relative peace the people are enjoying before now.

According to him, the speaker has made contact with relevant agencies of government charged with the responsibilities of providing security to beef up their activities in the area to root out the criminals in the district.

He said the security situation in the country is becoming worrisome hence there is need for all and sundry to make concerted efforts at confronting the menace for the growth of Nigeria.

He called on the Commissioner of Police and other heads of security agencies in the state to swing into action to fish out the perpetrators.

He urged the people of the community to remain calm as efforts are ongoing to bring the situation under control.

He sympathized with the immediate family of the deceased, Suku community and the entire people of Bunu land, praying that God shall grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

May their souls rest in peace.
