Extend Educational Support To Kogi West, Coalition Of Kogi West Student Leaders Call On Leke Abejide

Ref: NAOS/PRES/ESIs/VOL.ll/006.2

An Appeal By Coalition Of Kogi West Student Leaders To Hon. Leke Abejide To Extend The Waec Scholarship Initiative To Four (4) Other Local Government Areas In Kogi West.

Fellow compatriots, ladies and gentlemen of the press, all other protocols duly and respectfully observed.

Thank God for this day, and thank you all for honoring our invitation to the Coalition of Kogi West Student Leaders national press conference, regardless the short notice, I’m personally grateful. VIVA ALUTA !

For the records, I’m Comrade Seun Bello (PSB), the National President of the National Association of Okun Students’ (NAOS). The mother union and supreme Students’ body of Kogi west senatorial district of Kogi state.

It has become pertinent to publicise the Union’s resolves, on critical issues that affect the welfarism and development of her members, as it will be discussed during the course of this press conference.

The core objective of my administration as NAOS National President since inauguration seven months ago, has constantly remain total and pro active commitments to the Welfarism, Educational, Socio-cultural and entrepreneurial development of all NAOSites. Sequel to this, we bring together other students leaders across Kogi West Senatorial District to pursue a common course that will be of greater good to all of us.

It is no longer news that the lackadaisical attitude of our supposed philanthropists, community leaders and public office holders toward the welfare of the students in kogi state has made the educational system of the state to be in sham.

However, History will never forget the few ones who have consistently been showing commitments to community development and human development.

It is on this note we wish to tender our unreserved appreciation to all Philanthropists, political actors, public office holders, community leaders and comrades who have contributed in time past to the noble cause of students advancement and emancipation. I pray you all achieve victory in all of your struggles.

Considering the dilapidated and unaffordable educational system of our dear Kogi state and poor Students’ welfare scheme, with little or no impact. It has become imperative to recognize and applaud the recent robust commitment of over 72 Million Naira by Hon. Leke Abejide into Educational development in Yagba Federal Constituency of Kogi west.

The Honorable member House of Representatives, Representing Yagba federal constituency recently replicated his continuous Educational development and students welfarism support by paying for WAEC, NABTEB & FEDERAL LABOUR for Technical schools and ADMINISTRATIVE CHARGES for all PUBLIC and PRIVATE SCHOOLS across Yagba Federal Constituency amounting to the tone of over 72 Million Naira.

The Yagba federal constituency, constitutes three (3) Local Government Areas of the total seven (7) LGAs under NAOS (Kogi west).
This singular act of genuine Educational emancipation and students welfarism oriented project is a big challenge to the Senator representing Kogi west senatorial district, other members of the green chamber, State Assembly members, every public office holder, Kogi State and Nigerian Government at large.

Emanating from the NAOS EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT INITIATIVEs (ESIs) Strategic & Working committee meeting with the NAOS Executives held on the 27th January 2020 at Lokoja, the State capital.
We make this as a resolution towards the welfare and emancipation of students across Kogi West.

  1. That as a matter of urgency, the Presidency of National Association of Okun Students (NAOS) on behalf of the coalition Appeals To Hon. Leke Abejide to subsequently Extend the ” Waec Scholarship Initiative” To Four other Local Governments In Kogi West.
  2. That every of the 7 LG Administrator of Kogi west senatorial district initiate an Education support/ Students’ welfare initiative.
  3. That other Representatives (Both at State and Federal level) intensify more efforts, and/or initiate more Educational development and students welfare support schemes in their various constituency.
  4. That the Kogi State and Federal Government intensify and give more consideration to Educational, Entrepreneurial and ICT development in the implementation of the year budget, to aid affordable/Quality Education and effective Students’ welfare support.

Conclusively, in the words of our sagacious political and educational hero, Comrade Awoo “the poor child you fail to educate today would let your educated children know no peace tomorrow”

We send our profound gratitude to Elder Leke Abejide for his outstanding performance in office within the short period of his emergence as the member representating Yagba Federal Constituency.

We shall remain unrepentant on our agitations for equal capacity building opportunities for all students, toward a sustainable unified and developed Kogi State

Train a child and secure your future; train the youths and build a nation.

Yours in struggle to success, Comrade Seun Bello (PSB), NAOS NATIONAL PRESIDENT.
